Hub bearing is a car's important walking parts. The
hub bearing is responsible for reducing the frictional resistance
during running of the chassis and maintaining the normal running of the
car. If
the hub bearing failure, may cause noise, bearing fever and other
phenomena, especially the front wheel is more obvious, easy to slip the
bearing leading to the direction of control and other dangerous
phenomena. Therefore, the hub bearings must be maintained on schedule.
Wheel bearing inspection methods
1, check the hub bearing tightness, first of all, aluminum-based ball
to keep the circle of the wheel rim wheel hub of the wheel hub from the
use of car stools, car shelves and other utensils to build a safe car.
2, Hand wheel rotation of the number of test cycles to see if the rotation is stable, whether there is abnormal noise. If
the bronze sleeve is not smooth and friction sound, indicating that the
brake part is not normal; if there is no noise, the rotation is not
stable and loose when the tight, indicating the bearing part is not
normal. When the above abnormal phenomenon should disassemble the wheel.
For
small cars, check the wheel bearings, holding the upper and lower sides
of the tire with both hands, both hands and move the tire back and
forth, repeated several times. If normal, there should be no feeling of loose Kuang and block; if
swinging obvious Songkuang feeling, should dismantle the wheel hub.
3, brake inspection. Usually check the wheel bearings, with the inspection wheel brake
device, if there is oil inside the tire, it is likely caused by the
brake cylinder or brake tubing leaks, should promptly identify the
cause, be excluded.
Wheel bearing maintenance steps
In the removal of the hub before, should be prepared to do the hub
maintenance, the car parked and erected from the axle to ensure the
safety of maintenance operations.
1, remove the hub shaft head decorative cover, dust cover;
2, remove the tire nuts and tires, be careful not to bruise the thread of the tire bolts. In the case of disc brakes, remove the brake and use it to remove the lock ring or lock pin.
3, remove the wheel with a special tool;
4, Scrape the bearings, journal and hub cavity of the old grease,
clean the hub bearing and journal with a cleaning agent and dry with a
cloth, and finally with a cloth wipe the hub cavity.
5,
check the hub bearing and bearing race, found cracks, fatigue spalling
and bearing roller loose phenomenon, should replace the bearing. If you find pocketed bearing race, it should be replaced bearings.
6,
check the bearing bore and journal with the situation, with the gap
should not be greater than 0.1Omm journal, the vertical ground should be
the upper and lower parts (where the largest wear parts) measurements. If
the gap with the provisions of the use of more than the limit, should
be replaced bearings, so that the normal return to the gap. Not allowed on the journal burr, pitting to narrow the gap.
7, until all the parts are in line with the requirements, the inner bearing grease coated release man wheel.
8,
the bearing cavity smear grease should be noted that the grease
squeezed into the bearing until the grease from the other side of the
bearing up. Apply a thin layer of grease in the hub cavity and in the shaft cover to provide a rust-preventive effect. Note that the grease in the hub cavity do not apply too much, otherwise it will affect the cooling and braking.

adjustment nut screwed on, and then use the shaft wrench torque required
to tighten the adjustment nut. After
tightening the nut, turn the hub a few turns to the right and left to
see how the bearing is mounted; on the other hand, make the bearing and
seat correctly fit by turning. At this point appropriate bearing tightness, the wheel can not feel the free rotation of the axial gap.
10, followed by the installation of the lock, fixing nuts, tires, dust cover and decorative covers and other parts.
11,
adjust the wheel bearings, driving a mileage (about 1Okm), parking
inspection, used to touch the wheel hub temperature, if fever, the
bearing adjustment is too tight, should be readjusted, appropriate
relaxation of bearing tightness.
