Composite bearings are bearings that work under sliding friction. The composite bearing works smoothly, reliably and without noise. Composite bearing applications are generally under low-speed and heavy-duty conditions, or operating parts where maintenance and lubrication are difficult.
Composite bearings are fine parts, so they must be used with great care. If used improperly, not only the expected performance effect cannot be achieved, but also the composite bearing is easily damaged.
Therefore, the following items should be paid attention to when using composite bearings:
1. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the composite bearing and its surrounding environment. Even if the invisible dust enters the composite bearing, it will increase the wear, vibration and noise of the composite bearing.
2. Use the device carefully, do not allow strong punching, directly hit the composite bearing with a hammer, or transmit pressure through the rolling elements.
3. Use appropriate and accurate equipment and tools, try to use special tools, and try to prevent the use of cloth and short fibers.
4. Avoid the corrosion of the composite bearing. When taking the composite bearing directly by hand, wash away the sweat from your hands and apply high-quality mineral oil before stopping the operation. Pay special attention to rust prevention in the rainy season and summer. However, under certain special operating conditions, composite bearings can achieve a life that is better than traditional calculations, especially under light load conditions. These special operating conditions are that when the rolling surfaces (tracks and rolling elements) are effectively separated by a smooth oil film and limit the appearance of contamination that may be incurred. In fact, under ideal conditions, the so-called permanent composite bearing life is possible.
5. The service life of the composite bearing. The life of the rolling composite bearing is defined by the number of revolutions (or working hours at a certain speed): the composite bearing within this service life should be on any of its composite bearing rings or rolling elements Onset of initial fatigue damage (flaking or defect). However, whether in laboratory experiments or theoretical applications, it can be clearly seen that under the same working conditions, the appearance of the composite bearing is the same, and the theoretical life is very different. In addition, there are several different definitions of composite bearing "life", one of which is the so-called "working life", which means that the theoretical life that a composite bearing can reach before damage is caused by wear and tear, and damage is usually not caused by fatigue. Rather, it is composed of causes such as wear, corrosion, and seal damage.
